Gramma Cota Turns 90!

Some milestones are more momentous than others, and becoming a nonagenarian is one of the rarest. On January 12, Jef's grandmother - Vera Cota - turned 90 years young , and we were honored to be there to celebrate with her and the rest of the Cota clan. Although her eyes may not have allowed her to clearly see everything going on, Gramma C was sharp as a tack, and was both emotionally moved and filled with mirth at the event. At one point she enjoyed a joke with her brother, Lyle, so heartily that she delayed a photo session for several minutes. This was the first occasion in 21 years in which all of Gramma's four children and 13 grandchildren were together. Also in attendance were 27 of Gramma's 30 great grandchildren. It was Sara's first chance to meet most of this clan, and somehow she managed to survive. The pic above is Sara & Jef with the guest of honor. Below is a photo Sara took of three of her new second-cousins: twins Sarah and Stephanie, and their cousin Rachael.

Jef and Sara, I love what you've done with your website and am so happy to be able to keep up with your world. I love the picture of Grandma Cota--so color configured! but so really there!
Keep on posting; it is nice to see what happens so far away from us.
Love to you all,
Bonnie/Mom
Hi Jef and Sara. Nice update on your blog page. Mom is standing here correcting you. This is the first time in 21 years that all the grandchildren have been together and there was 27 out of 30 great-grandchildren.
Love you both
Dee
