Thanksgiving 2007

Tryptophan can be brutal! We enjoyed our first Thanksgiving as husband and wife and also in our new home, surrounded by nearly two dozen friends from the Durham area. The group comprised a wonderfully eclectic mix from the lab, our pool league, and the volleyball crowd. Sara cooked a wonderful turkey, which was accompanied by scrumptious sides brought by our friends. Thanks to everyone for joining us, and for bringing such great food! I wish I had a picture of the whole gang, but we were so busy cooking and then eating that I didn't pick up the camera until well after the meal. The following picture shows the evidence of the heavy meal (and tryptophan)! Apparently Katie (Monroe) is much more resistant to the effects of lotsa turkey on her serotonergic system, but Todd (Hershberger) is not so fortunate. Then again, it may be that Todd was one of the many helpful guests who assisted us in finishing off the (several) bottles of wine we had on hand! ;-)
